Terms & Conditions
1. About Closet Courier
Closet Courier is a sole trader business operating in Scotland that provides a clothing resale service. We help customers sell unwanted clothing and accessories by managing the selling process on their behalf through established online selling platforms.
By using Closet Courier's services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. How Our Service Works
Customers provide clothing and accessories for Closet Courier to assess, prepare and sell on their behalf.
Our service includes:

Collecting items from customers

Sorting items based on resale suitability

Photographing suitable items
-
Creating and managing online listings
-
Managing buyer communication
-
Packaging and dispatching sold items
-
Processing customer payouts
Closet Courier manages the selling process, including deciding how items are presented and priced to achieve the best balance between value and a successful sale.
3. Ownership of Items
Customers remain the legal owners of their items until the item has successfully sold.
By providing items to Closet Courier, customers confirm that:

They own the items they provide.

The items are genuine and not counterfeit.

The items are not stolen or obtained unlawfully.
-
They have the right to allow Closet Courier to sell the items on their behalf.
Closet Courier reserves the right to refuse or remove any items that do not meet these requirements.
4. Accepted Items
Closet Courier accepts clothing and accessories that are suitable for resale.
Items must be:

Clean and washed before collection.
-
In good selling condition.
-
Free from significant damage, stains, odours or defects.
-
Suitable for another customer to purchase.
Closet Courier does not accept:
-
Underwear or similar personal items.
-
Items with significant damage.
-
Items that are unsuitable for resale.
-
Counterfeit or prohibited items.
Closet Courier has the final decision on whether an item is suitable for resale.
5. Sorting and Unsuitable Items
After collection, all items will be reviewed and sorted.
Items that are considered unsuitable for resale will be separated. Customers will have 7 days from notification to arrange collection of these items.
If the customer does not arrange collection within this timeframe, they give permission for Closet Courier to dispose of, donate, recycle or otherwise handle the items as appropriate.
6. Pricing and Selling Decisions
Closet Courier has full discretion over the pricing, listing style and selling strategy for each item.
Prices are determined based on factors including:

Brand
-
Condition
-
Demand
-
Market trends
-
Likelihood of sale
Customers do not approve individual listing prices, as Closet Courier manages the process to achieve efficient sales and maximise overall returns.
7. Items That Do Not Sell
If an item has remained unsold for 2 months, Closet Courier will notify the customer.
The customer will then have the option to:

Arrange collection of the item within 7 days.

Allow Closet Courier to dispose of, donate, recycle or otherwise handle the item.
If no action is taken within 7 days, the customer gives permission for Closet Courier to proceed with disposal or other handling of the item.
8. Commission and Payments
For every successful sale:

The customer receives 60% of the final selling price.
-
Closet Courier receives 40% of the final selling price.
The commission covers the complete resale service, including sorting, photography, listing, buyer communication, packaging, dispatch and administration.
There are no upfront fees, listing fees or charges before an item sells.
9. Payout Schedule
Customer payouts are processed every two weeks:

The first Friday of each month.

The Friday two weeks after.
Payments will only be made once Closet Courier has received the funds from the completed sale and there are no unresolved complaints, disputes or issues relating to the transaction.
10. Returns and Issues With Sales
If a buyer returns an item through an online selling platform, Closet Courier will relist the item once it has been received and assessed.
The customer payout will only be calculated once the sale has been successfully completed and any return period or issue has been resolved.
11. Care of Customer Items
Closet Courier takes reasonable care when handling customer items.
However, Closet Courier cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, damage or delays caused by circumstances outside of its reasonable control.
Customers acknowledge that items are provided at their own risk and that second-hand resale involves circumstances that may be outside Closet Courier's control.
12. Customer Accounts
Customers are responsible for providing accurate personal information and keeping their account details up to date.
Customers can access their account information, including relevant updates about their items and payouts.
13. Changes to These Terms
Closet Courier reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions when necessary. Any changes will be published on this website.
